SCA-Service Component Architecture is an application technological innovation created by major application providers including IBM and OracleSCA provides a model for writing applications that follow Service-Oriented Architecture concepts. The SCA technological innovation involves numerous different technologies and as such is specified in various independent requirements to keep development language and application environment neutrality.

On March 21, 2007, The OSOA(Oracle SOA) Cooperation launched the V1.0 stage of specification.

The basic components of SCA-Service Component Architecture are:

Composite: It is a single unit of operation, irrespective of the complexity of the application.
Component: It is the unit which provides the business logic for the application. A composite contains various such components.
Services: Act as entry point to every of these components. Not all services can be accessed directly from outside the composite. Only those exposed to outside world specifically can be accessed directly. Those that can be accessed by external globe are called Promoted Services or Exposed Services
Reference: As the name suggests, is a reference to some implementation, either external to the composite or within it.
Wires: It is with wires that the components or services are bound and connect to everyone.
Properties: SCA leverages its implementation to supply customization to the components through properties, which actually extend the standard functionality.
